TRIME® radar technology
SONO works on the basis of radar technology with state-of-the-art TRIME®TDR technology (Time-DomainReflectometry). This novel technology has been validated in many years of cooperation with several scientific institutions.
In the so-called time-of-flight measurement, a radar pulse is used to determine the volumetric water content. The basic technology is successfully used for a wide variety of moisture measurements. For moisture measurement in fresh concrete, the method was further developed accordingly. The special probe and the associated handheld meter now offer a simple solution for reliable results on the construction site. -
Scientifically validated
The technology has been thoroughly investigated and validated as part of a publicly funded research project (IGF 21322N)¹.

A few steps to successful measurement
- Set Concrete
Before starting the measurement, three parameters must be entered: the bulk density, the characteristics of the concrete mix design, and the general set. In most cases, the data can be taken from the delivery bill, are known, or can be determined quickly. - Measurement
The SONO analyzer can be used to sample concrete with a slump from F2 to F6. A commercially available 12-liter plastic bucket filled approximately ¾ full with concrete is ideally suited for performing the measurement. The best measurement results are obtained with four to five individual measurements at different positions around the bucket. - Results
The handheld unit displays the water content in the fresh concrete.
