Indigenous Hub, Toronto, Ontario

Project data

Location: Toronto, Canada

The Indigenous Hub real estate towers, located in downtown Toronto and recently completed, represent an expansion in the city's urban living. The development consists of an 11-storey rental building, a 12-storey condo building, and an interconnecting eight-storey podium. Additionally, the project includes a parking garage, training and educational facilities, and a series of townhomes. Premform led the construction of this project, heavily relying on PERI materials to ensure the safe and timely fulfillment of production schedules and system requirements.

Requirements

The residential building, spanning 81,000 square feet, was completed in 300 days, emphasizing the crucial role of PERI's systems in adhering to the project's timeline. The SKYDECK Shoring System played a significant role, covering approximately 40,000 square feet for the parking garage levels. The lightweight system components expedited the site’s performance by offering easyto- handle accessories and fast forming through planned assembly sequences.

Eddy Paiva
Superintendent, Premform

"The PERI Systems on this project provide safety and efficiency during construction. By assembling the Skytable system at ground level, less time is spent working at heights, and the Maximo system is intuitive for the new and inexperienced workers."

PERI solution

Furthermore, the project also makes use of PERI's DUO System, SKYTABLE Shoring System, VARIO System, and MAXIMO Wall Panels with MX and DW 15 ties. Our MX
tie technology with one-sided tie installation greatly accelerates formworking operations and the DW 15 ties were used for the thicker walls on site (60 cm and up). These systems collectively contributed significantly to saving considerable production time on the project's schedule. Their ease of packing and mobility across the site not only streamlined operations but also saved crucial crane time, a vital resource on a project of this magnitude.

In conclusion, PERI's system solutions played a vital role in guaranteeing straightforward, effective, and secure operations, ultimately meeting the completion deadline for the Indigenous Hub Towers. The stunning buildings are now open for residents across the city.
